PALM KERNEL SHELL

Biomass derived from the palm oil industry is a popular renewable energy fuel in Southeast Asia. The abundance of palm shell biomass resources is due to the rapid development of the palm oil industry in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. In the palm oil value chain there is a surplus generated because the utilization of this product is still relatively low.

Supplier Cangkang Sawit

Palm kernel shells are the remains of the shell fragments after the palm kernels are removed and crushed in the palm oil mill. Palm shells are a fibrous material and easy to handle until the product is ready to be marketed. In the process of making palm shells, there are large and small fragments mixed with dust and small fibers. The water content in the palm shell is low (11% - 13%) compared to other biomass residues from different sources.

Palm shells contain residues from the heat-suitable portion of palm oil at slightly higher values than most lignocellulosic biomass. When compared with other biomass residue industries, palm shells are a good quality fuel with a uniform size, easy to destroy and fast combustion process due to low humidity levels. The fibers and shells produced by palm oil are generally used as fuel for steam boilers. The steam produced is used to run turbines that produce electricity.

SAWDUST WOOD BLOCK

Consumers have a choice of fuels for energy to be burned in wood burning inserts in boilers, wood stoves or fireplaces. Compressed sawdust blocks have become a popular choice for a number of reasons. It is important to know what materials are used in the manufacturing process. If only kiln dried wood is used, the fire will just smell like wood. Wood Sawdust Blocks are made from 100% chopped wood that is dried and compacted.

We have found that carefully blending hardwood types produces a consistent burning block. In addition to sawdust, finely ground dry wood chips are added. This process produces a flame, providing an atmosphere other than heat.

Sawdust blocks can also be useful for animal bedding, small to large scale gourmet mushroom cultivation and medicine
